Pet Wellness & Preventative Medicine

Ginger Cat

Our goal is to offer wellness care for our patients throughout their lives. As the saying goes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of care. We believe if we work together, providing routine preventative care, regular screening labs, and offering client education, we can prevent many illnesses and catch the others in the early stages. All of these efforts lead to a happier, healthier, and longer life for our best buddies.

What To Expect At A Wellness Visit

One of our Fear Free Certified veterinarians will start by reviewing your pet's medical history, noting any changes or concerns you may have. We will then perform a nose-to-tail exam. We'll take our time to discuss your pet's current needs and, if needed, work with you to develop a treatment plan.

Puppy

Puppy & Kitten Care

Congratulations on the newest member of your family! We recommend bringing your new puppy or kitten in to our practice as soon as possible so they can begin to acclimate to routine veterinary care. During a puppy or kitten wellness visit, we will:

  • Perform a nose-to-tail exam and get a baseline for your pet's health
  • Administer age-appropriate vaccinations
  • Run routine blood work and fecal testing
  • Discuss options for microchipping, spay/neuter plans, and any nutritional and behavioral needs

Puppy & Kitten Vaccine Recommendations

  • Puppies—We recommend puppies be seen every 2–3 weeks for vaccinations. These visits will occur at 7, 10, 13, 16, 18, and 20 weeks. The rabies vaccine is given at 16 weeks, and after they get their lyme and lepto vaccines they are all set for a year.
  • Kittens—We recommend kittens be seen every 2–3 weeks for vaccinations. These visits will occur at 7, 10, 13, and 16 weeks. The rabies vaccine is given at 16 weeks, and after that they are all set for a year.
Senior Cat and Dog

Adult & Senior Pet Care

Just like us, our adult and senior pets have their own set of unique healthcare needs. As your pet ages, we will modify their tailored care plan to account for their ever-changing needs. We recommend:

  • Annual visits (2 if your pet needs routine dental cleanings)
  • Annual diagnostic testing and blood work
  • Age appropriate vaccinations
  • Senior pets (7+) may require more frequent visits depending on their needs

We offer a wide range of services to keep your pet healthy and happy as they age, including preventative care, nutritional counseling, pain management, and more.
