Dr. John Clifton
Veterinarian & CEO

Dr. John Clifton took ownership of Tysons Corner Animal Hospital from Dr. Jim Davidson and is the current chief-of-staff. He graduated in 2000 from The Ohio State University college of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to going to veterinary college he grew up in Papua New Guinea, where as a child he developed a keen interest in animal care and husbandry. At the age of 11 he watched a veterinarian help an injured horse, and at that time he decided he wanted to be a veterinarian. Since then he has worked with both large and small animals, and has developed an interest in pocket pets. He is a member of American Veterinary Medicine Association and the DC Academy of Veterinary Medicine. Yearly he spends over 80 hours on continuing education and has taken courses advanced soft tissue surgeries, emergency medicine, and practical techniques. He lives in Tysons Corner with his wife Elisa, son Reed, daughter Gwyneth, cat Cupcake, and dogs Matilda and Maggie. He and his wife are involved in many activities that involve their children. It brings him great joy to donate his services to multiple rescue groups, since both of his pets are rescues.
